Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s advice of
move with public as friend was neglected by Police
பொதுமக்களின் நண்பனாக காவலர்கள் செயல் பட வேண்டும் என்ற தமிழக முதல்வரின் அறிவுரையை காவலர்கள் புறக் கணிக்கிறார்கள்.
Times of India dated 1-6-2012 published news
explaining the worst type of behavior of Traffic Policemen in Chennai with
public. Our Tamil Nadu Chief Minister already instructed the Police to move
with the public in a friendly type and to redress their grievances. But now the
behavior of policemen exhibited in the pictures of Times of India shows how they are harassing the public even for minor mistakes which can be solved in an amicable way.
A traffic policeman catches a biker on Wallajah Road
near Triplicane and tickets him for riding without a helmet. Blame it on the
perceived injustice of being singled out in the mass of helmet less motorists
or the fiery afternoon heat, the man proves to be quite hot-headed. “Why target
me when there are hundreds of other helmets less drivers,” he asks. “I don't
mind paying if you book them too.” The man's impudence fires up the scene.
Soon, another policeman teamsup with his embattled colleague and tries to drag the man to the policestation. On the way, the man tries to free himself of the policeman's clutchesby pushing him to the ground. But the policeman knots his legs and arms aroundthe man and pins him to the ground.
Finally, the biker is produced before a police officer who lets him off with a warning.
This incident shows the Policemen are neglecting our Tamil Nadu Chief Ministers advice of move with the public in a friendly manner and they are harassing them for even petty crimes. They can take note of the Bike Number and can punish with fine.
We once again request our Chief Minister to educate police to follow decent behavior with public. See the pictures throw “You Tube.”
