How Navagraha Gods got relived from their imprecation?

How Navagraha Gods got relived from their imprecation?

தங்கள் சாபம் நீங்க நவக்கிரக தேவதைகள் எங்கு சிவனையும், பார்வதியையும் பூஜித்து சாபம் நீங்கப் பெற்றார்கள்.?

Invoking the Lord in the form of planetary deities is one of the ways Hindus worship God. Nine heavenly bodies – the Navagrahas – are recognized as having a significant influence on the lives of individuals. They consist of Surya (Sun), Chandra (Moon), Mangala (Mars), Budha (Mercury), Guru (Jupiter), Sukra (Venus), Sani (Saturn), Rahu (northern node of the Moon), and Ketu (southern node of the Moon). Worshipping them is a way to bring peace and harmony in one’s life and avert mishaps. Each of them confers a particular benefit upon the worshipper.

Hindus view the Navagrahas as playing a significant role in the life of an individual. May the Sun give us long life and good health; the Moon, pure fame; the son of the Earth (Mars), charisma and prosperity; the son of the Moon (Mercury), intelligence; Jupiter, respectability; the one possessed of the qualities of a poet (Venus), the capacity for unsurpassed and melodious speech; the one of slow gait (Saturn), continual joy and pleasure; Rahu, strength and the destruction of enemies; and Ketu, growth of the family. While the positions of the various planets at the time of one’s birth determine the life pattern destined at birth, the destined events can be changed through specific prayers (shaantis) offered to the planetary deities.

I am going to tell you thro this video, the story of Navagraha Gods who were relieved of from their curse by worshipping Lord Siva and Parvathi in Suryanar koil.

Kunkulia Kalaya Nayanar. குங்குலியக் கலய நாயனார்.Tamil Speech S.V.Ramani.

Kunkulia Kalaya Nayanar. குங்குலியக் கலய நாயனார்.Tamil Speech S.V.Ramani.

Kunkulia Kalaya Nayanar was known, because he was
carrying always large pots of "kunkuiya" red incense, which is
used for Doopa, like Dasangam. He was born in a pious Brahmin
family, in Kadvaur, a place near Mayiladuthurai, in Tamil Nadu.

Kunkuliya Kalaya Nayanar was a great Siva devotee and spent all
his earnings for buying the incense and burning it regularly in Siva
temple. Soon he became poor, because he was spending all his

wealth for this noble act and also for feeding the poor people everyday
in his house. One day he had no money and his faithful wife, who had
nothing to cook food at home, gave her gold "mangala sutram" for
buying food items. When Nayanar went to the bazaar, he found some
red incense being sold by a trader from overseas.

He liked it and with the money obtained after pledging the gold, he bought the incense and went to the temple and stacked the bags inside the temple, for dhoopa atthe evening arti. He returned home empty handed. His wife expressed disappointment, but did not express any anger. Suddenly the couple
heard some noise at the back yard and when they went, they found
bags of gold coins, being dropped from the sky in the backyard. They
became very happy at the kindness of Siva and continued their life with
regular incense burning in the Kadavur temple.

Once, in the Siva temple of Tiru Panandal, a nearby town, news spread
that in order to accept the garland from a little pious girl, Siva bent and
took the garland and so the Siva Linga appeared leaning without being
erect. The King ordered a rope to be tied and several soldiers pulled the
rope, to straighten the Siva Linga, without any success. They called
Kunkulia Kalaya Nayanar for finding a way out. He said that Siva
would bend only for the ardent devotees and not for power. Hence,
he tied the rope and pulled it by connecting it to his hairs. The devotee
became red in his face, with his hairs stretched, and he was bleeding

in the head. He did not stop. His wife watching the scene cried inconsolably. Soon, the Siva Linga became erect and the devotee fell down in pain.

Lord Siva appeared before him and said: "We shall stoop only to the devotees
and not for anyone else. He took Kunkulia Kalaya Nayanar and his wife to his Abode.

Instead of Devotion bribe is growing everywhere in Tirupati Temple.

Instead of Devotion bribe is growing everywhere in Tirupati Temple.

The Tirupati Tirumala Devasthanams (TTD) not only manages one of the most revered temples in India but is also the richest temple board in the country. With a mammoth Rs 2,000-crore annual budget, 10,000 staffers in 98 wings, it is not surprising therefore that the menace of corruption has seeped into its system.

“It’s a mini state in itself, giving rise to corruption at every level,” says a senior temple official. Right from the time a pilgrim gets down at Tirupati to catch a bus to the Tirumala hills for a darshan, has his head tonsured, obtains an appointment with the joint executive officer for accommodation, buys laddu prasadam, he has to grease the palms of employees and agents.

Corruption has became a norm, ‘1+1’ has become the code word to get things done. By this, a pilgrim has to pay double of what he is entitled for a service. Madhava Reddy, an onion trader from Hindupur, had the bitter experience of shelling out Rs 5,000 to a tout recently. “Though an AC room costs Rs 1,500, I had to spend Rs 5,000 since they took Rs 1,500 as commission towards accommodation (under 1+1 scheme) and Rs 2,000 more for darshan and prasadam,” he said. Reddy says that he had to depend on the agents because the other option was to run from pillar to post to get recommendation letters for darshan/accommodation from a top official or an MLA.

“Its institutionalized corruption as an artificial demand is created by the staff in cahoots with brokers,” points out a former executive officer of TTD.

At Kalyanakatta, where pilgrims offer their hair in fulfilment of their vows, tonsuring service is free or one can take Rs 10 tokens. But here there is no 1+ 1, it is worse. Every barber takes Rs 50-100 from each pilgrim. There are over 500 barbers. The union president of barber association, was caught handing over the day’s moolah to the superintendent on a close circuit camera last year. The official was suspended but later reinstated. Insiders say that after that episode whenever barbers take money, they look straight into the cameras to avoid detection.

Then, there are TTD publications counters at various places atop the hill, which are always under lock and key. If pilgrims want to buy books, they have to walk 5 km from the main temple. “Thousands of books are printed at the TTD printing press. There is unaccounted corruption to the tune of Rs 150 crore in this wing alone,” alleges advocate Srinivas.

Similarly, there are several AC rooms for pilgrims. But the ACs are always under repair. “There are no records on how many ACs are in working condition but they keep placing orders for new ACs,” says a former official not wanting to be named.

The Andhra Pradesh Government must instruct Tirupathi Devasthanam authorities to curb the bribe activities of its Devasthanam staff and instruct them to take stringent action against the erring officials. Instead of Devotion bribe is growing everywhere in Tirupati.

Our Indian Government must instruct the Andhra Pradesh Government in passing necessary amendments in the law to control Tirupati Devasthanam activities.

Kannappa Nayanar.கண்ணப்ப நாயனார்.

Kannappa Nayanar.

Nagan was the king of hunters at Uduppur in Pottapi Nadu. His wife was Tattai. They were great devotees of Lord Subramanya. By His grace, they had a child, after a long time. It was very heavy: so, they named him Tinnanar.

One day, Tinnanar went out hunting. A pig escaped from its net and was running away. Tinnanar pursued it accompanied by two others, Nanan and Kadan. The pig was tired and stood near a tree. It was quickly killed by Tinnanar. They were tired, too, and thirsty. They proceeded towards the Ponmukali. Tinnanar wanted to climb the nearby mountain. Nanan, too, volunteered to follow him, saying that on that, the Kalahasthi hill, there was Lord Kudumithevar (God with a Tuft). Kadan was busy cooking the pork.

As he saw the Lord there, he felt supreme love surging in his heart. He embraced the Lingam and kissed It. He began to shed tears of joy. He felt that the Lord was lonely there, and that he should thenceforth remain with Him. Again, he thought that the Lord might be hungry. Though he was reluctant to leave the Lord alone, he quickly came down the hill to fetch some food for the Lord. He took the best pieces of the pork, tasted them and ear-marked the very best for Him. In the mean time, he gathered from Nanan that the Lord was worshipped daily with water, flowers, etc, before the food was offered to Him. So, he began to collect the other articles of worship. He filled his own mouth with water from the river. Flowers, he gathered and wore them on his head! He took the pork, bow and arrow and went up the hill again, alone this time.

At the temple, Tinnanar poured from his mouth, the water that he had brought for His worship. That was his ‘Abhishekam’. Then he decorated the Lingam with the flowers he had brought on his own head. This was his ‘Archana’. He then placed the pork before the Lord. He went out and stood guard for Him, at the entrance, lest some wild animals should hurt Him. In the morning again he went out to hunt and bring fresh food for the Lord.

When Tinnanar left the temple in the morning to get food for the Lord, Sivagochariar, the temple priest, came there for the usual orthodox worship. He was horrified at the desecration that some unknown person had done in the temple. He was well versed in the Agamas (rituals of Siva-worship). He performed the necessary purificatory rites and took bath again and began his formal worship. He brought water in a holy pot, with a bandage around his own mouth, lest the breath of his mouth should pollute it. He brought fresh flowers in a holy basket. He brought fruits and sweets, newly made and unpolluted by anyone tasting it, before the Lord for being offered to Him. He went home after the worship.

Tinnanar returned with fresh meat. He removed the priest’s decorations, and did the worship in his own way, and then as usual, stood guard at the entrance.

This went on for five days. The priest was greatly upset about the desecration of the holy place. He appealed to the Lord to stop it. Lord Siva wanted to show to Sivagochariar the nature of Tinnanar’s supreme devotion. He commanded him in a dream, to hide himself behind the Lingam, when Tinnanar went to the temple the next day, and watch what took place.

On the sixth day, Tinnanar went out as usual for getting the Lord’s food. While returning, he saw many ill omens, which made him feel that something had happened to the Lord: he was so unconscious of himself, that he did not think that something could happen to him. He ran towards the Lord. He was grieved to see blood issuing from the Lord’s right eye. The articles he had brought for the worship dropped from his hand. He wept bitterly. He could not find who had done this to the Lord. He treated the eye with herbs he knew of. Still the bleeding did not stop. A simple idea occurred to him: ‘flesh for flesh’. At once, with his own arrow, he took out his own right eye, and fixed it over the right eye of the Lord. The bleeding stopped. He was very happy. When he was dancing in ecstasy, he noticed that the Lord’s left eye had begun to bleed. But, he had already found out the remedy. There was only one problem: how to locate the eye of the Lord, when his own eye had been pulled out. So, Tinnanar planted his foot at the place where the Lord’s left eye was on the Lingam, and began to pull his left eye out, with his arrow.

At once, Lord Siva caught hold of his hand and said: ‘My dear child, Kannappa! Stop plucking your eye.’ The Lord repeated the word Kannappa thrice. Kannappar was thrice blessed. Tinnanar became Kannappar, because he gave his own eye to the Lord. Lord Siva took him with both Hands, and kept him on His right side. Kannappar regained his vision and lived as god himself. Sivagochariar understood the true nature of devotion.

Jayalalithaa asked her partymen to 'gift' her with all 40 Lok Sabha seats in the 2014 elections.

Jayalalithaa asked her partymen to 'gift' her with all 40 Lok Sabha seats in the 2014 elections.

தமிழகத்தின் நாற்பது எம்.பி. தொகுதிகளையும் எனது பிறந்த நாள் பரிசாக வென்று தாருங்கள். ஜெயலலிதா.

After winning in Sankarankoil by-election AIADMk General Secretary Selvi Jayalalithaa setting her sights on carving out a larger role in national politics, AIADMK supremo and Chief Minister Jayalalithaa asked her partymen to 'gift' her with all 40 Lok Sabha seats in the 2014 elections.

"Winning all the 40 seats in the coming Lok Sabha polls would be the best present my dear partymen you can give me and I request you to start working towards this goal," Jayalalithaa, who will turn 64 on February 24, said.

Tamil Nadu has 39 Lok Sabha seats and the neighbouring Union Territory of Puduchery one. In her address to partymen in the AIADMK general council in December last, she had exhorted them to galvanize the party for a role at national level, saying it would even be in a position to elect the next Prime Minister.

However, riding on a massive anti-incumbency wave in the April 13 assembly polls last year, AIADMK trounced its arch rival DMK, bringing back Jayalalithaa as Chief Minister for the third time.

In her message to partymen ahead of her birthday, Jayalalithaa asked them to desist from any grandeur regarding celebrations saying such a practice by the DMK men did them in as people were not amused by such extravaganza. Holding that she was for simplicity on the lines of her mentor and AIADMK founder, the late MG Ramachandran, she insisted that her birthday celebrations should be low-key.

"It is nine months since the AIADMK has been in government. We have not been involved in any sort of extravaganza and even many government functions have been launched via video-conferencing, to save taxpayers' money."

She told partymen: "You should take a cue from this and celebrate my birthday in simple manner and by distributing welfare to others." Chief Minister Jayalalithaa asked her partymen to 'gift' her with all 40 Lok Sabha seats in the 2014 elections. We will wait and see whether her party people will keep up her words in winning all 40 MP seats.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said India's vote against Sri Lanka was to enable minority Tamils to get justice.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said India's vote against Sri Lanka was to enable minority Tamils to get justice.

சிறுபான்மைத் தமிழர்களுக்கு நியாயம் கிடைக்கவே இந்தியா இந்த தீர்மானத்தை ஆதரித்ததாக இந்தியப் பிரதமர் கூறினார்.

India is among 24 countries that voted against Sri Lanka today at a session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva. The UN's top human rights body has passed a resolution, sponsored by the US, for 'promoting reconciliation and accountability' in Sri Lanka after its army won a 26-year-long civil war by defeating the rebel Tamil Tigers.

We do not want to infringe on the sovereignty of Sri Lanka but concerns should be expressed so that Tamil people can get justice and lead a life of dignity," said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Sri Lanka had rejected the resolution.telling "After 30 long years of instability and violence we have achieved stability and peace.

15 countries including China and Russia backed Sri Lanka, which had rejected the resolution, saying it unduly interfered in the country's domestic affairs and could hinder its reconciliation process. Eight countries abstained from today's vote. The resolution says the Sri Lankan government could benefit from advice by the UN human rights office. Today's resolution followed an inquiry conducted by a United Nations panel which said last year that it had credible allegations of serious violations committed by both the government and the rebel Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), which was classified as a terrorist organisation .

The UN resolution adopted today [22-3-2012] asks for Sri Lanka to implement the recommendations of a committee it created internally, the Lessons Learned and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC) Process, to study the allegations of war crimes. The US delegation in Geneva today referred to the government's "lack of action to implement the recommendations" of that commission. It described the resolution it has moved as one "that encourages Sri Lanka to implement the recommendations of its own LLRC and to make concerted efforts at achieving the kind of meaningful accountability upon which lasting reconciliation efforts can be built."

China has thrown its weight behind Sri Lanka, saying it is against any country putting pressure on others in the name of rights violations. China, in recent years, has made big investments in Sri Lanka besides assisting the island with major projects like building a modern port at Hambanthotta. Earlier this month, Sri Lankan Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa visited Beijing to seek its support to stave off the US-led move.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today[22-3-2012] said India's vote against Sri Lanka at the UNHRC was in line with its stand and wanted to ensure that concern was expressed to enable minority Tamils in that country to get justice.

Thanks to American President and Indian Prime Minister.

The huge mandate of dalit and thevar voters raised Jayalalitha’s Victory in Sankarankoil.

The huge mandate of dalit and thevar voters raised Jayalalitha’s Victory in Sankarankoil.

In Sankarankoil strange combination of upper and lower caste votes has helped the ruling AIADMK win the reserved Sankarankoil assembly seat for the sixth consecutive term, thereby preserving its traditional stronghold. The huge mandate from the dalit and thevar voters in the March 18 byelection cannot be doubted as winning candidate S Muthuselvi has trounced her DMK rival by 68,757 votes, a margin which is the highest this constituency has recorded so far.

Political observers note that the electoral verdictclearly proves that dalits have not deserted theAIADMKleader and chief minister J Jayalalithaa despite the police firing on a dalit mob in Paramakudi in Ramanathapuram district last year in which six persons were killed. Similarly, the thevars have also not deserted her despite Jayalalithaa expelling her close aide and influential member of the community Sasikalaa Natarajan and her family members from the AIADMK for alleged antiparty activities. The multi-cornered contest with four major parties in the fray evidently divided the votes of the opposition parties even as dalit-thevar votebank, believed to be more than one lakh in an electorate of 2,05,870, consolidated in favour of the ruling party.

Since 1991, this dalit reserved segment has stood by the AIADMK in all the six polls, including the 1996 assembly elections contested against the backdrop of a strong anti-Jayalalithaa wave. Even if a common opposition candidate had been fielded this time, as discussed in hushed voices in the run-up to the bypoll, the ruling party would still have won by a margin of around 35,000 votes as the AIADMK secured 94,977 votes, compared to the 59,038 votes secured by DMK, MDMK and DMDK together.

“The people of Sankarankoil constituency have stood by us during our good and bad times,” Jayalalithaa said in a statement. The issues like power cuts and hike in milk prices and bus fares apparently did not affect the electoral outcome, much to the chagrin of opposition parties which were hoping to cash in on perceived anti-establishment sentiments.

This is the first time that Sankarankoil voters have elected a woman candidate. The fact that the Jayalalithaa government will complete one year in office in May and has four more years to go, would have also influenced the people to vote for the AIADMK candidate in the expectation of more welfare schemes.

Now it is the duty of Puratchiththalaivi Jayalalitha and AIADMK party members to keep up the faith of people in fulfilling their welfare schemes.

In Koodankulam Kalam told that people should not have "even a nano-sized doubt"

In Koodankulam Kalam told that people should not have "even a nano-sized doubt"

கல்லணை உடைந்து மக்களின் அழிவிற்கு காரணமாகிவிடும் என்று கரிகாலன் நினைத்திருந்தால் கரிகாலன் கல்லணை கட்டியிருக்க முடியாது.

After keeping the Centre waiting for months, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa has at last given her thumbs up for the commissioning of the Koodankulam nuclear power project (KKNPP), which was in limbo owing to several protests by the locals and anti-nuke activists.

Significantly, the AIADMK government's decision on Monday 19-3-2012 comes barely a day after polling getting over for the Sankarankoil by-election in Tirunelveli district, where the KKNPP is located. It appears that the AIADMK czarina, who had in the past made common cause with the protest, was only waiting for the bypolls to get over.

The go-ahead comes with the announcement of an Rs.500 crore development package for establishing cold storage and mechanised boat repair facilities for the fisherfolk, intended to wean them away from the ongoing stir.

Former President APJ Abdul Kalam's entry into the Kudankulam arena during 5-11-2011 has subtly changed the dynamics of the anti-nuclear protests in the region. Within a day of the former president visiting to the nuclear power project site and endorsing its "state-of-the-art" safety features, there is a growing voice supporting the former space scientist and questioning the views of S P Udayakumar, who is spearheading the protest at ground zero.

Kalam's 10-point action plan - portions was given to the government - suggesting development of surrounding villages and creating 10,000 jobs, has struck a chord with a section.

Outlining a 10-point plan for the Kudankulam nuclear power project, the former president said people should not have "even a nano-sized doubt" over the safety of the project, as it met all the safety aspects.

Kalam's suggestions to the Centre included development of the region where the plant is located, including construction of a four-lane highway connecting Kudankulam and the villages situated in a 30km radius with Madurai, Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari; a world-class hospital with over 500 beds; mobile medical facilities to locals; creation of 10,000 jobs for villagers living within the 30km to 60km radius of the plant; and bank loans for youth with 25% subsidized interest rates.

Kalam also suggested creating infrastructure facilities like construction of green houses, multi-storeyed housing complexes and playgrounds. He said fishermen in the area should be provided with motorboats, small jetties and fish cold storage facilities. In his report, Kalam said the "local residents' truthful questions, dynamics of geo-political and market forces and the people, who are not thinking that the nation's interest is more important than their interest, are the reasons for the protest."

I am explaining about Kalam’s speech in Tamil thro video.

Nithyananda samiyar and actor Ranjitha addressed a press conference at Chennai on Thursday [15-3-2012], eight months after their first, and declared that the video tape showing them in an intimate position was doctored.

Now the Bangaluru forensic expert has given an interview to the news agency, says that during 2010 some private TV Channel has contacted him and asked about the genuiness of Nithyananda video. He told them that he has verified the video and told them that images are Nithyananda and Ranjitha only and there is no morphing in that.

He further told, subsequently one devotee of Nithyananda came to me and asked me whether he can say the Video scenes are morphed. I have told him to bring your video then I will investigate and tell the real fact. Afterwards he never turned up.

Chandrasekar further explained, in the present video in which Nithyananda and Ranjitha are in intimate position were taken from fixing the camera in a permanent place and taken in one shot. The people in the video are Nithyananda and Ranjitha only.

He told, two days back while Nithyananda having an interview with press, he said the tape had been sent to US-based forensic agencies which “confirmed that it had been morphed. But I do not know whether they have sent this same video or some other type of videos which they only know. Our Thanks to Sun TV.

Dr. Ramadoss challenged Karunanidhi, what he has done for Tamil language and Race? If he has done anything I am prepared to have challenge with him.

On behalf of PMK party opinion meeting on 17-3-2012 in Chennai, about “Dravidian illusion” Dr.Ramadoss told that Dravidian parties have mortgaged Tamil rights to other states.

He told that Dravidian parties have only made Tamil people as slave to liquor and movies and they have not done any useful things to Tamil Race. He challenged that if Karunanidhi prepared to explain that what he had done anything to Tamil Nadu, I am prepared to have debate with him.

I have explained Dr. Ramadoss Tamil speech thro the video.

Tamil Folk Music by Aparnaa.

Tamil Folk Music by Aparnaa.

தமிழ் நாட்டு நாட்டுப்புறப்பாடல்கள்.

Tamil Music abides an important culture of Tamil people. The Kulavai sound is made by the women engaged in agricultural work with a turn of the tongue which they move swiftly side ward. The Kulavai song is sung in beautiful melody, particularly in Thanjavur where agricultural prosperity and music tradition alike have been kept up. Women stand in knee-deep slush, planting the seedlings and they raise the Kulavai sound to expedite work and to honour visitors. Anyone passing between paddy fields has to make token payments or tips to these women, if they greet him in chorus.

This Tamil Folk Music gives the real man's life experience abundantly. Common styles of group and individual dances and music together with the folk-art forms are for acclaim and sheer amusement value. Many of this folk music and dances still are flourishing in Tamil Nadu here and now. The ingenious music lives here. You can hear one of the folk music song thro the video.

Whether Actor Ranjitha and Nithyananda samiar intimate position video was morphed?

Whether Actor Ranjitha and Nithyananda samiar intimate position video was morphed?

நடிகை ரஞ்சிதாவும் நித்யானந்தா சாமியாரும் நெருக்கமாக இருக்கும் வீடியோ போலியானதா?

Nithyananda samiyar and actor Ranjitha addressed a press conference at Chennai on Thursday [15-3-2012], eight months after their first, and declared that the video tape showing them in an intimate position was doctored.

Nithyananda said the tape had been sent to four US-based forensic agencies which “confirmed that it had been morphed. The agencies, which work closely with the FBI, gave 60 reasons to prove their point.” He claimed that the software used to morph the video was sophisticated and could not be detected by labs in India. He said some people tried to blackmail him using the video.

Asked why they did not approach police or the media earlier, Ranjitha told reporters: “I had a family to take care of. I needed time to prove the video was fabricated. I have always considered Nithyananda god.”

Nithyananda said, “I don’t want to create new enemies, but I will surely defend myself against those who consider me their enemy. I trust the judiciary.”

On the charge that he had amassed huge wealth, Nithyananda said, “I can assure you that I have property of less than 100 crore.” Nithyananda requested police to keep his former employee Lenin Karuppan, arrested on Wednesday for alleged blackmail, in jail as he was “a threat to society.” Karuppan had released the video to the media.

Already during 2010
Karnataka CID’s Deputy IGP Charan Reddy said. The CD was sent to Central Forensic Science Laboratory Hyderabad for analysis where it was found to be authentic, he said. “The video footage is genuine. It is un-tampered and there is no indication of alteration in the video. Now it is the question that remains is whether the Tamil Nadu police will take into consideration the findings of the Karnataka police and findout the truth.

I am neither a foe of samiar nor the friend of Lenin Karuppan.
Let us hope if the truth will come the people will feel happier.

Ms Jayalalithaa categorically stated her government will put a 'full stop' for the present power crisis.

Efforts are being taken to expedite several power projects and priority has been given to power generation schemes. 'I have taken personal interest in solving the power crisis,' she said. MORE UNI GSM GM 1505 NNNN

Facing flak over the grim power situation in the state, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa on 14-3-2012 Wednesday said the situation would improve from June with the completion of various projects leading to total capacity addition of 1950 MW.

Power plants in North Chennai, Vallur and Mettur were on the fast track and the government had taken efforts to ensure 1950 MW by June and another 600 MW by October, ensuring 2,550 MW of power by the year-end, she said.

“The power shortage will start declining from June. Our efforts to buy power during this period have proved futile following congestion in the transmission corridor,” she said about the issue which she had recently taken up with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Referring to reports about India planning to support Sri Lanka in the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) against a U.S.-sponsored resolution against Colombo for alleged war crimes, she said “this is the concern of Congress towards Tamils.” The Chief Minister, who is on a tour of the constituency as part of her campaign schedule, recalled the various welfare measures being implemented by her government. The by-election is to be held on March 18 2012. Please view the video to hear the full text of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister at Sankarankoil as published by the news papers.

US Resolution before United Nations Human Rights Commission on Sri Lankan atrocities

US Resolution before United Nations Human Rights Commission on Sri Lankan atrocities

மனித உரிமை ஆணையத்திடம், அமெரிக்காவின் இலங்கை அரசின் அட்டுழியத்திற்கு எதிரான தீர்மானம்.

The US is proposing a resolution on Sri Lanka in the current session of the United Nations Human Rights Commission (UNHRC), which started last week. While the Sri Lankan government has opposed the move, the resolution will do nothing to address the war crimes and gross abuses of democratic rights by the military in the final stages of the island’s civil war against the separatist Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).

The draft resolution calls on the Sri Lankan government to implement the recommendations of its own Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC), as well as initiate credible investigations into allegations of human rights breaches not addressed by the LLRC report.

The Colombo government’s opposition to carrying out the recommendations of its own inquiry underlines the fact that the LLRC was a sham inquiry designed to cover up human rights abuses and deflect demands for an independent international investigation into war crimes. President Mahinda Rajapakse handpicked the commissioners to ensure no genuine inquiry took place.

Such was the scope of the war crimes that the LLRC could not endorse the government’s lie that no civilians had been killed by the military. The LLRC concluded, however, that any civilian deaths were accidental and blamed the LTTE for preventing people from leaving territory under its control.

The LLRC findings contradicted international reports, including from an expert committee appointed by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. The UN panel found “credible evidence” of war crimes that implicated the government, senior state officials and top military commanders. It concluded that the Sri Lankan military had killed tens of thousands of civilians in the final months of the war to May 2009, including by deliberate attacks on hospitals and aid posts.

Almost all major Tamil Nadu parties have joined chief minister J. Jayalalithaa and Karunanidhi in demanding India back a US-sponsored resolution against Lanka at the ongoing UNHRC meet in Geneva for alleged war crimes in the final phase of the Eelam war.

New Delhi, however, is yet to make up its mind. We the crores of Tamil People in Tamil Nadu request our beloved Prime Minister of India to stand in support of the resolution brought by America on Srilankan atrocities on Eelam Tamils.

Karunanidhi’s former security officers were also involved in land [Plot] scam.

Karunanidhi’s former security officers were also involved in land [Plot] scam.

கருணாநிதியின் பாதுகாவலர்கள் வீட்டில் லஞ்ச ஒழிப்பு சோதனை.

Chennai Vigilance officials conducted searches at the residences of three former personal security officers of M Karunanidhi in the city on Friday 2-3-2012 as part of a probe into their purchase of Tamil Nadu Housing Board (TNHB) plots worth 75 lakh each in 2008, when the DMK president was chief minister.

The security officers DSP Pandian and inspectors C Ganesan and C Vinothan of the core security cell in the special branch-criminal investigation department (SBCID) — had purchased TNHB plots, each measuring two grounds (one ground is 2,400 sq ft), allotted in the Mogappair Eri Scheme under the government discretionary quota (GDQ), sources in the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC)said.

Pandian, who had applied for the TNHB plot in the name of his wife Meena, paid the sum as a one-time payment. Police sources said the three entered into separate ventureswithsomeother persons to buy the plots. While Meena was allottedthe plotfor her social service, the two inspectors availed themselves of the plots under the GDQ citing other reasons, sources said.

Three special teams, each led by a DVAC assistant commissioner of police, began the searches at the officers’ houses at 8am. “Wewent there to check how they managed to pay the huge amount with their earnings,” an officer said. Similar raids were conducted at the residence of a woman on GreenwaysRoadin Raja Annamalaipuram, who bought Ganesan’s plot for 1.90crore.

Several DMK leaders and former Ministers besides MLAs have faced police and DVAC action either on land grab charges or allegations of disproportionate assets after the AIADMK government came to power

Karunanidhi instead of blaming Brahmins for his defeat in the elections let him clean his DMK Party men from involving in corruptions and bringing a bad name to his party. That is the only way through which he can revive Dravidian ideology.
