Kanchi seer’s Spiritual People’s Party must guide the people in a righteous path.
Kanchi seer’s Spiritual People’s Party must guide the people in a righteous path.
Kanchi Sankaracharya Jayendra Saraswati on Wednesday[23-3-2011] in Chennai, officially launched a party, the Tamil Nadu Desiya Aanmiga Makkal Katchi (Tamil Nadu National Spiritual People’s Party), under the aegis of the Kanchi Sankara Math.
The pontiff holds no post in the party; Avadi Ravichandran, a businessman associated with the Kanchi Math, is designated the founder-leader. The party, for the time being, has no plans to contest polls, but it does have a manifesto: A law banning religious conversions, another to ban cow slaughter and the shifting of administrative powers over temples from the government to private organizations.
“This is not merely a party,” said the Sankaracharya, showering flowers on the party flag that shows a raised fist on a saffron circle against a red backdrop. “This is a movement to get people to practice divine bhakthi, to alienate all the evils surrounding us and let people lead a clean and happy life,” he said.
The materialistic bit came next, in the form of a resolution the party adopted on its founding day. Neither the state nor Centre should interfere in the syllabus of private educational institutions, it said, though governments can set regulations and guidelines. Governments should give importance to agriculture and ensure no taxes are levied on agriculture or its allied products. This will ensure food for every human being, the resolution said.
Maneka Gandhi, Janata Party leader VS Chandralekha and All India Imams Confederation president Maulana Umad Ahmad Iliyasi participated in the founding day function.
Peoples ambition is The Tamil Nadu Desiya Aanmiga Makkal Katchi must guide the people to lead a righteous path in their public life and to stand as a guiding symbol for others.

DMK minister’s assets multiply 780 times within five years. மக்களுக்கு மிக்சியும் கிரைண்டரும்,மந்திரிகளுக்கு கோடிகள்.
In five years of DMK rule, a state minister has multiplied his assets 780 times. At least that’s what the official figures show.[Times of India dated 23-3-2011]
Tamil Nadu food minister EV Velu, contesting from Tiruvannamalai assembly segment, declared at the time of the 2006 assembly polls that his assets were worth around Rs one lakh. Apart from a 1.1-acre agricultural plot in Pinjur village worth Rs 60,000, Velu had shown cash deposits of Rs 25,000 and jewellery worth Rs 15,000 five years ago. As per his affidavit, his wife did not own any assets then.
Now, five years later, the affidavit filed by Velu on Monday shows his assets have multiplied in every form - land,
buildings, jewellery and cash deposits. The 60-year-old minister and his wife are currently worth Rs 7.8 crore. He has bank deposits running into Rs 17.47 lakh, agricultural lands worth Rs 1.75 crore, buildings worth Rs 1.25 crore and a house valued at Rs 4.5 crore. In addition, his wife has jewellery that costs Rs 5.76 lakh and agricultural land worth Rs five lakh.
Election Commission has made it mandatory for candidates to declare their assets as well as those of all dependents.
Wealth of Anbarasan and Ponmudy too appreciated
State labour minister T M Anbarasan, contesting from Pallavaram assembly segment, has also seen a considerable appreciation in wealth during the five years in the state cabinet.
His listed assets have increased in value from 91.49 lakh in 2006 to 4.95 crore in 2011. They include those owned by his wife. One of the additions is a Mitsubishi Pajero, valued at 22.9 lakh.
He has also bought two buildings worth 25 lakh at Kundrathur in 2008 while his cash deposits have gone up from 10,866 to 20.6 lakh. There was no property in his wife’s name in 2006, but she owns properties worth 55 lakh at present.
Higher education minister K Ponmudy perhaps does not believe in depreciation of assets. He had a tractor worth 2.39 lakh and a trailer worth 50,000 five years ago. And he values the two vehicles at the same price even today.
He owns a pistol worth 10,000. His and his wife’s assets put together are worth 7.17 crore now, an increase of 2.45 times since 2006.
Without taking any action for raising the living level of poor people these political people are telling that they will give free Mixy and Grinder, if the people elect them in the election to rule again.
The people must take a vow and tell the politicians that they don’t want any freebies for their vote, but they want curb in the price raise in all commodities, free education in all engg and other colleges, and employment for their children. The politicians are dreaming the people are like dogs and throwing mixy and Grinder as bread slices. It will be great insult for the citizens to accept these bread slices from the corrupted politicians.

Friendship of Jayalalitha with Vaiko should not be mere lip level.

Jayalalitha with the friendship of Vaiko can only fight against the corrupted regime of Karunanidhi
Jayalalitha with the friendship of Vaiko can only fight against the corrupted regime of Karunanidhi
MDMK leader Vaiko is keeping his cards close to his chest till his party’s working committee meeting on Saturday[12-3-2011] to decide on whether to go it alone in the coming Tamil Nadu assembly elections. Vaiko remained out of reach when AIADMK leaders tried to reach him for renegotiations on Thursday.
In the early days of negotiations,Vaiko was confident that his party would get around 30 seats, but the AIADMK began the talks with an offer of just six seats on March 8.
The AIADMK then increased its offer to seven seats on March 12 and eight the next day. Vaiko, on his part, scaled down his demand to 25 seats, or alternatively, “23 seats of our choice”, but AIADMK refused to relent. The AIADMK’s final offer was a mere nine seats, while Vaiko came down to 21. The MDMK then decided to break the six-year courtship with AIADMK.
It is the ambition of all people of Tamil Nadu that Selvi Jayalalithaa should not leave the friendship of Vaiko who was considered to be the fittest leader to fight for the uplift Eelam Tamils who were crushed by Rajapashe. Karunanidhi never turned even a brick to save the life of Tamil Eelam brethrens. He was catching his chair firmly and never threatened Congress that he will resign from his CM post if they don’t stop the war against Tamils in Srilanka.
Karunanidhi is having all the tactics to break the alliance of Jayalalithaa. Hence Jayalalithaa must leave her self egoism and must come forward to fight against the corrupted regime of Karunanidhi with the cooperation of other alliance parties. If Jayalalithaa doesn’t cooperate with Vaiko and Vijayakanth, it will be difficult for her to oppose Karunanidhi, who was well trained with all election gimmicks.

In the interest of people DMDK leader Vijayakanth should not think of forming Third front.
In the interest of people DMDK leader Vijayakanth should not think of forming Third front.
AM Sadhick Batcha, A.Raja’s aide and a person considered a key link in the 2G spectrum money trail was found hanging in his residence on 16-3-2011 in Chennai. Balwa MD of DB Reality told CBI that he knew sadhick Batcha from 2006. CBI and ED established money trail from DB Reality to Kalaignar TV.
In these circumstances, it is clearly seen that Tamil Nadu people will not vote for DMK and to come over from the present situation DMK wants to create misunderstanding between AIADMK alliances and to win the election.
If DMDK leader Vijayakanth and MDMK leader Vaiko come out of AIADMK alliance they will not definitely succeed in their attempt of winning the elections and by bifurcating the votes DMK will only be benefited.
In the interest of Tamil Nadu people and in the present situation Vijayakanth and Vaiko should not come out of AIADMK alliance.

Kalaignar daughter Kanimozhi and wife Dayalu Ammal questioned by CBI, in 2G scam.
DMK MP and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi's daughter Kanimozhi was Friday being questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the allotment of 2G spectrum licences.
Karunanidhi's second wife Dayalu Ammal and senior official in Kalaignar TV Amrathan, who is close to the family, will also be questioned, officials said. The interrogation is going on in the Kalaignar TV office at the DMK headquarters here. The three arrived at the office around 10.20 a.m on 11-3-2011.
Officials said they would be questioned in connection with the flow of over Rs.200 crore from Swan Telecom promoter Shahid Balwa's DB Realty firm to Kalaignar TV, a regional Tamil channel in which Karunanidhi's family members allegedly have a majority stake.
While Kanimozhi is said to have 20 percent stake in the TV channel, Dayalu Amma has 60 percent stake. The balance 20 percent is with Kalaignar TV managing director Sharat Kumar, it is learnt.
It is stated that without giving any assurance to DMK in 2g Spectrum episode, Congress has got 63 seats in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. We have to wait and see, whether this alliance will have co-operation in the Assembly elections.
Kindly see the Video. Our Thanks to “Jaya TV”

Karunanidhi’s most potent weapon is to threaten his allies.
Karunanidhi’s most potent weapon is to threaten his allies.
A little before the DMK high-level committee meeting at 5.55 pm to issue a threat to the Congress to end it all, M Karunanidhi’s phone rang. The DMK leader knew who the caller was, but asked his personal assistant to say he was busy in a meeting. On the other end was Union finance minister Pranab Mukherjee.
Karunanidhi might have surprised Pranab by not taking the call, but it is unlikely that Congress was caught unawares by the DMK threat. There have been plenty of them during the seven-year association. On May 22, 2009, when Manmohan Singh was still putting in place his new government, Karunanidhi had blocked seats on an Indian Airlines flight to take back his 18 MPs if the party was not given seven ministerial berths. The Congress obliged.
DMK had a more emotional reason to employ the threat weapon in November 2008, when the war in Sri Lanka was peaking. “We are not heartless enough to ignore the sufferings of the Tamils,” it had said, threatening to pull out if the Centre did not take steps to stop the killings in Lanka. This time, a few diplomatic noises were enough to make the southern ally silent.
“This has been DMK’s style,” says political commentator Gnani. “But Karunanidhi employs threat as a strategy only when he is dealing with a person like Sonia who has been decent. Karunanidhi may not have done this if he was dealing with a tougher person like Rahul Gandhi.”
If toughness of his partner is Karunanidhi’s criteria to be assertive, he had it easy in July 2006, when he threatened to pull the rug if the government did not shelve its proposal to divest its 10% share in the Neyveli Lignite Corporation. Manmohan Singh immediately fell in line.
The NDA government, too, had a taste of DMK’s blackmail tactics. In December, 2003, Karunanidhi said his party would withdraw support to the government in protest against then BJP president M Venkaiah Naidu’s remark that DMK, as an ally of NDA, should not agitate against the government. BJP cleared the air, but the next year was another election. And DMK found another friend in Congress.
DMDK presidium chairman Panruti S Ramachandran said chief minister M Karunanidhi was angry with Congress only because the party had never given him any assurance that his family would be “protected from any probe” in connection with the 2G spectrum scam. “If the party had given him assurance, then the matter could have been different.
